This place is always packed, so be sure to arrive early or be prepared for a long wait. We ordered the kalbijjim, which was delicious. The meat had a nice sweetness but was a bit tough and chewy--not quite fall-off-the-bone tender. Watching them torch the cheese on top was a cool touch, though keep in mind that the cheese is an extra add-on. Service was pretty quick overall, but the kalbijjim takes about 20 minutes to prepare, which they did inform us about in advance. Overall, it's a great indulgence if you're craving some flavorful, hearty meat!
I've been to Daeho for years, and it's certainly one of Milpitas' gems. The Kalbijjim with cheese is definitely their most popular dish, and my go-to with a larger group of friends (at least 3-4 people). However, my partner and I recently discovered the Spicy Galbitang, and it's changed our lives. The broth is amazing, beef is incredibly tender, and all in all, is a perfect homey noodle dish to pair with the complimentary side dishes they give you. It's a must try and recommendation from us. Did you know that you could also order a side of braised beef and rice cakes as a side? We tried it out (since it was only the two of us and we didn't want to commit to a large Kalbijjim), and it satisfies the craving for sure. Try it out if it's a solo or duo date. There's typically always a wait, but that's given for Daeho. Try to join the yelp waitlist though ahead of time if you can.
Late lunch was good and no wait! But parking in this plaza was challenging as it's an Asian market area! Bad drivers and bad parking. LOL Staff was on the go as it was busy. All business. ;) Been wanting to try this place since I'd seen in on Tik Tok or was that Insta? The restaurant was not too big but was packed with people. Got lucky on a seat for four people. Of course, we had to try their famous Daeho Braised Short Rib Kalbijjim and add cheese on top. Seeing the cheese being charred by a torch, I was drooling or was I just hungry? For the price, I thought it was small but as you dig in, there was a lot but a lot of big bones, and good for four people. We also had their Kalbi Tang Beef Rib soup. It tasted good but tasted almost like our Filipino Nilaga soup; nothing special but good on a cold day. They offered banchan sides with your meal as well. For their prices, I would go here every so often. Portions are big. Nothing on a small scale. I would like to try other things on their big menu. Wish it was closer to where I live. [10R,2025]
First time visit. Located in a strip mall, this small restaurant had a short waitlist when we arrived at noon on Sunday. We pre--ordered the Kalbijjim for 2 to share. At first I was reluctant to order a $82 dish. (Menu said 2-3 people). We felt it was more 3-4. It was huge!! The banchan and rice were already waiting for us when we were seated. Since we preordered, it came out quick and piping hot. The server literally torched the cheese at our table. The meat was tender and fall-off-the-bone delicious. Along with carrots and potatoes we were surprised to find rice cake simmering in the hot plate. Definitely a hearty, "warm your soul" kinda meal. We left with 2 take out containers. Next time we'll have to try the Tteokbokki and Kalguksu I can see why there's a wait. The restaurant is narrow with about 12 tables. Use the Yelp waitlist to get ahead of the line.
I went with a party of 8 and I believe you order outside while waiting to get seated, so I recommend looking at the menu online and knowing what you want before coming. The server was super nice! We got the braised beef, which was delicious with the side dishes and rice. It was $98 but we shared it with everyone (it's a lot haha). The bibimbap was pretty good as well. The restaurant itself was decently sized and quite busy.
